A Little Bit About Me
Stories and storytelling has been a part of me since my early teens. I've always loved fantasy—elves, magic, dragons, the works. Creating story worlds where anything can happen? Sign me up!
As a Christian, though, I am careful with how I create the magic systems that populate my stories. I don’t think magic is bad, but it requires care in how it’s written and handled. I will usually have a line drawn between the good kind and the bad kind. But overall I love exploring and understanding the magic systems I create. The sky’s the limit!
But beyond magic, I love all parts of writing. I love exploring characters and their inner workings, giving them growth and watching their paths shape them to be who they need to be. Even if they aren’t sure they can become that person (and redemption arcs? LOVE).
I’m also passionate about the art of storytelling overall. I want to create quality stories of truth and light, where darkness isn’t romanticized, or stories that have elements simply to check off boxes because society demands it.
Stories are powerful for the mind, and it’s a rich field for cultivating the very best tales. I’ve been digging around in it since I was a kid. Fantasy is my flavor of choice, with plenty of adventure, danger, magic, found family, and sometimes a little bit of romance (with none of the smut!).
And I’ve loved every minute of it. Just ignore the occasional screaming into the void.
When I’m not frantically chasing down characters who don’t listen (happens more often than you think), I’m usually curled up at home reading or playing cozy video games while hoarding pretty notebooks and a *healthy* supply of chocolate. Or I’m in a perpetual power struggle with my cat.
I can also be found snuggling my many nieces and nephews. I’m currently working toward the Favorite Aunt status.
